Prices for the Pixel 4 have absolutely plummeted this week, with Vodafone dropping the handset costs by 50%.
While the handset still retails at $1049 at JB Hi-Fi, you can pick up the 64GB Pixel 4 with Vodafone for just $523.80 on a 36-month, 24-month, or 12- month contract. You’ll bundle the handset with your choice of Vodafone Red Plan, ranging from $40 to $80 per month, on top of phone repayments.
The $50 Red Plus Plan is the best value, offering unlimited talk and text on top of 60GB data at max speeds, and unlimited data after that runs out at 1.5 Mbps top speed. For a monthly cost of $64.55 over 36 months, or $71.83 over 24 months, you could be flush with data and a shiny Google flagship phone.
Here it is over 36 months
And here over 24 months
Better yet, you only need to commit to one-month with Vodafone. If you just want a cheap Pixel 4, you can sign up for a plan, and then just leave immediately - paying out the remainder of your $528.80.
Google's flagship device boasts a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display, with a dual rear camera of 12MP+16MP, and 2,800mAh battery capacity. Pixels are full of fun features, like Quick Gestures, which allow you to complete basic functions by waving your hand above the screen, and Night Sight for the astro-photographer in us all. It runs on Android (duh). And being Google's phone and operating system, the Pixel 4 will get updates before other Android devices.
Unfortunately you won’t be able to get the Pixel 4 in its oh so sexy, Oh So Orange skin, but Vodafone is currently stocking the phone in Just Black and Clearly White.
Vodafone isn't the only one’s dropping their Pixel 4 prices, Telstra is also offering a $288 discount over the term of the plan on both 64GB and 128GB handsets.
Unlike Vodafone, the Telstra savings are in exchange for your loyalty. The $288 discount is divided into a monthly discount over 24 or 36 months, and will only apply for how long you stay on the plan. If you decide to jump ship early, then no further discounts will apply and you’ll need to pay out the remainder of the handset cost in full.
Here are your Pixel 4 options with Telstra
These price drops come after Google’s I/O 2020 convention was cancelled over coronavirus concerns. At this event last year, we saw the release of the Pixel 3a, and rumours suggested that the Pixel 4a would be unveiled in the same way this year.
Despite the cancellation of the physical event, we are still expecting to hear about the Pixel 4a device in the coming weeks, potentially through an online-only launch.
Google clarified on its site that, “over the coming weeks, we will explore other ways to evolve Google I/O to best connect with our developer community".
Until then, we can appreciate a good Pixel 4 bargain when we see it.
