WhistleOut
04 September 2017

With years of experience in this area, the WhistleOut team knows there is no such thing as the one, best phone plan. Everyone has different needs from a phone and plan.

But we do know how to spot a great deal. Read on for our picks for the best phone plans available right now.

Best for big data

Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram: the list of data hogging apps is growing all the time. If you're like us and spend a chunk of each day on your phone using any of these services, then you need a plan with a fair bit of data.

The telcos clearly know this and now it’s not uncommon to see plans with 10GB or more. But, make sure you take a look at a few recent bills to see how much data you need so you can be sure you're choosing the right plan.

Best for kids & teens

Choosing a plan for your kids will depend greatly on how much they use their phones (and how much you’d like them to). For older teens, one of the plans listed above might be a better fit. For younger kids, we recommend a plan with unlimited calls and SMS. It may seem like overkill, but we think the peace of mind you’ll have from knowing your kids can always call home is worth a few extra bucks.

We also recommend choosing a prepaid plan. That way, if your kids chew through all of their allocated data in the first week, you won’t be stung by a nasty bill at the end of the month.
