OVO Mobile gives customers even more data per recharge

Data lovers rejoice: OVO Mobile is giving customers on selected plans a surprise gigabyte boost, absolutely free.

If you're on OVO's Large or Extra Large prepaid mobile plans - or you're shopping around for a new, SIM-only prepaid deal - you'll now get extra monthly data, without the extra cost. The Large plan has received a 2GB monthly bump (now 10GB, up from 8GB), while the Extra Large option now includes an awesome 19GB of data (up from 14GB).

Go with the $34.95 Large Plan, and you'll also get unlimited standard national calls and texts, plus 300 international call minutes to OVO's most-dialled countries. If you're on the $49.95 Extra Large plan, you'll get the same unlimited Australian calls and texts, plus 500 minutes of overseas calls each month.

Both plans also feature unlimited data-free streaming of sport and radio via OVO Play. This means you can stream live sports or radio directly on your phone, without using your plan's included data. Sports options include gymnastics, water polo, sailing and motorsports, while radio networks include Triple M, Hit Radio and more.

As previously reported, OVO Mobile has also recently increased data - and dropped pricing - on its Mega mobile broadband plan. Formerly $79.95 per month for 70GB of data, the plan now includes 100GB for just $69.95: a 40% increase in gigabytes for a 12.5% price reduction.

How does OVO compare?

If you're looking for a great value, data-heavy prepaid option, OVO Mobile's revamped plans are some of the best on offer. The 10GB Large plan comes in $5 cheaper than Lebara's own 10GB option (although Kogan Mobile does offer a highly competitive 16GB for $36.90 per 30-day recharge).
