Amaysim today announced it has made a minor but important tweak to its range of post-paid SIM Only plans.
Customers on the company’s $29.90 monthly plan will now get unlimited calls and SMS, the same as amaysim’s more expensive plan options. Previously customers on this plan received 500 minutes of calling minutes per month.
“You shouldn’t need to be a genius to figure out which mobile plan is best for you… The move to a simpler suite of mobile plans is yet another example of how we’re making it easier for Aussies to compare and change mobile plans month-to-month as their smartphone habits or budgets change, “said amaysim CEO Julian Ogrin in a statement.
“Our aim is to make switching, saving and managing mobile accounts as simple as a few swipes of a smartphone.”
The change will be automatic for existing customers, and is now available for new customers wanting to join amaysim at this price point.
It may seem like a minor adjustment, but it is clearly a sign that that $30 per month is now a more popular price point than previously, with many of the SIM Only telcos bolstering $30 plans with more data.
Optus and Vodafone both recently moved to unlimited calls and SMS on $30 plans, but both with less than half of the data offered by amaysim.
