Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi recently entered the Australian market selling outright devices, and it's now got a 5G smartphone of its own: the Mi Mix 3 5G. Much like other Xiaomi's other smartphones, the Mi Mix 3 5G is only available directly through the company's online store and via retail partners like Amazon for $1,399.
If you want to use the Mi Mix 3 5G on a 5G network, at this stage your only choice will be grabbing a Telstra SIM-only plan. Optus should also be switching its 5G on in the coming months, however.
There's more to the Mi Mix 3 5G than just 5G connectivity. It packs a slide-up camera that results in a 6.39-inch notchless 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 12MP + 12MP rear-facing cameras, and a 3,800mAh battery.
Priced at $1,399 outright, the Mi Mix 3 5G is the cheapest 5G handset you can get in Australia, undercutting the OPPO Reno 5G by $100. It is however worth noting the Reno 5G has four times as much storage, an extra camera, a larger screen, and a higher capacity battery.
