Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event at 12am (AEST) on July 10, where it is expected to reveal the latest iteration of its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices. While Samsung hasn't officially confirmed the event is about foldables, the press has lines that seemingly give it away, like "the future is already unfolding".
In recent years, Samsung has used its mid-year Unpacked to reveal new takes of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, but more devices could be on the cards this year.
Prolific leaker Evan Blass has revealed that the manufacturer will launch two flip-style foldables this year: the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will benefit from a much larger external display (similar to the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra) and a thinner design, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be more in line with last year's Galaxy Z Flip 6 and presumably come at a cheaper price point.
When it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung itself published a blog post a few weeks ago titled "Meet the next chapter of Ultra". In it, it alludes to taking features and design elements from the Galaxy S Ultra family of phones and bringing them to the Fold series. This could be things like better cameras and a titanium build. What's unclear is if Samsung will launch a standard Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, or just a single device.
Based on previous years, Australian pre-orders for the new foldable phones will start on July 10.
Lastly, when Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 at the start of the year, it confirmed that it was working on a multi-fold device. Multi-fold is a reasonably new form factor for foldable phones. Rather than just folding once, these devices can fold multiple times.
While it's unlikely that such a device would be ready for sale, there's a chance Samsung could tease something more concrete, like it has with the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Ring in the past.
