After teasing the Galaxy S25 Edge at the start of the year, Samsung has followed through and launched its light-and-thin new device. The sleek design is naturally the key point of difference, but the Galaxy S25 Edge also benefits from being the only non-Ultra device in the Galaxy S25 family to have received a titanium frame and a 200MP camera.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge plans
The Galaxy S25 Edge is available on mobile plans from Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone. The trio all give you the option of 24-month and 36-month repayments. A 24-month term means you own your Galaxy S25 faster, while a 36-month term brings down your monthly cost.

If you're looking to snap up a Galaxy S25 Edge, there are a few telco deals worth considering.
Vodafone: Vodafone's pre-order offer is over, but it still has a tantalising EOFY deal where you'll save $250 on the device. You'll also get $300 of bonus credit on top of the credit you get when you trade in an old device when you buy a Galaxy S25 Edge. This deal runs until June 30.
Telstra: Telstra's pre-order deal is also higher value. It's offering a $300 discount on both the 256GB and 512GB model. That's a saving of $8.33 per month on a 36-month term. This runs until June 30.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features

The Galaxy S25 Edge is, by and large, cut from the same cloth as the rest of the Galaxy S25 family. It has the same design language, the same chipset, and the same premium trimmings. It's just thinner and lighter. This does mean less cameras, and a smaller battery, however.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge AI
As with the rest of the Galaxy S25 family, the Galaxy S25 Edge features Galaxy AI, which was introduced in last year's Galaxy S24 family. The latest batch of Galaxy AI features introduced at the start of this year include:
- Proactive briefs at the start and end of each day, giving you information like weather, sleep data, and your calendar
- Call recording with automatic transcription
- The ability for the virtual assistant to complete multi-step tasks with one command. Samsung gave the example of "find vegan pet-friendly restaurants, and then send the list to Dave"
- Natural language search in the Samsung Gallery app and the Settings app
- Improvements to Circle to Search that let it identify audio playing, in addition to what's on the screen
- An audio eraser for removing background noise from videos
Some Galaxy AI features, such as photo editing, require an internet connection. Others, such as live translate, are done entirely on the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge design
Design is the big point of difference for the Galaxy S25 Edge. It has a width of just 5.8mm at its thinnest point, and it weighs 163 grams. For comparison, the similarly sized Galaxy S25 Plus is 7.3mm thick at its thinnest point, and weighs 190 grams.
Despite the thin and light build, the Galaxy S25 Edge still has a 6.7-inch screen, just like the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge camera
The Galaxy S25 Edge has two rear cameras: a 200MP primary lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The 200MP primary lens is the same resolution as the one found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
There's a 12MP selfie camera on the front.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge battery
The Galaxy S25 Edge has a 3,900mAh battery. That's 100mAh smaller than the standard Galaxy S25, and 1,000mAh smaller than the Galaxy S25 Plus. Despite this, Samsung says the Galaxy S25 Edge can still last a full day of usage. In our testing, we found it possible to get at least 4.5 hours of screen time per charge. That's a full day of moderate usage, with little buffer.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge processor
The Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, like the rest of the Galaxy S25 family.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge 5G
The Galaxy S25 Edge has 5G connectivity, but models sold in Australia don't support mmWave 5G. mmWave is a faster type of 5G that telcos have slowly been rolling out, but very few devices support it locally.
WhistleOut's coverage checker tool has 5G coverage maps, making it easy to see whether you can get 5G. All you need to do is pop in your address when searching for a new phone plan. After you've done so and hit Search, you can jump straight to the coverage map by tapping See Coverage Map and then tapping Click To Activate Interactive Map.
This map will show you what kind of coverage you have in your area. 5G coverage is highlighted using the darkest shade of purple, but unticking 4G and 3G can help make it clearer. The drop-down menu lets you choose between telcos.
Coverage maps are only approximate, only show outdoor coverage, and may be impacted by local conditions such as buildings.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge plan providers
Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone are all selling the Galaxy S25 Edge on a plan. Here's a breakdown of the major benefits you can expect each provider to offer.
Telstra Galaxy S25 Edge plans
Telstra Galaxy plans are often the priciest on the Australian market, but they do come with a host of perks.
Telstra lets you pay your Galaxy off over 12, 24, or 36 months, and all plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your cap, your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps, which is still fast enough to stream video in SD. But speeds may be slower during peak times.
Optus Galaxy S25 Edge plans
Optus Galaxy plans come with solid data inclusions.
Higher-end Optus plans also come with unlimited international calls to selected destinations included with the plan.
All Optus plans are contract-free, and devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months.
In addition, all Optus postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, you'll be slowed to 1.5Mbps rather than being billed $10 per gigabyte.
Vodafone Galaxy S25 Edge plans
Vodafone Galaxy plans may not come with the kinds of freebies and perks you can get from Optus or Telstra, but they have bonuses when it comes to bundling.
If you have a Vodafone mobile plan, you can get most of the telco's internet plans - NBN, 5G home internet, and 4G home internet - at a discounted rate.
Vodafone customers also save 5% on their total mobile bill for each postpaid mobile plan on their account after the first. This discount maxes out at 20% and doesn't include handset repayments.
Vodafone postpaid plans are all free from excess data charges. When you go over your plan allowance, you'll be capped at 2Mbps.
You'll also get access to Vodafone's $5 roaming, which is still easily the best way to travel with your Australian phone number.
How to choose the best Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge plan for you
There are a few key factors to keep in mind when picking a Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge plan:
- Answering "how much mobile data do I use" can help you avoid overspending. Don't pay for more data than you need
- Decide whether you want to pay off your phone shorter on a 24-month plan or get a smaller bill over a longer period of time on a 36-month plan
- If you're a frequent overseas traveller consider any international roaming inclusions
- You may also want to make international phone calls so check if the destinations you may be calling are included in your plan
