We've had to wait a couple of months, but OPPO today confirmed you'll be able to pick up the Find X2 Pro locally as of July 9 for $1,599 outright. You'll be able to get it on a plan through Telstra, Optus, and Woolworths Mobile, or outright from JB Hi-Fi, Mobileciti, Catch of the Day, Kogan, Officeworks, and Bing Lee.
Plan prices have yet to be confirm, but we're expecting it will add a $66 per month repayment to your chosen plan on a 24-month term, or a $44 per month repayment on a 36-month term.
OPPO's latest flagship focuses on the three most important parts of a smartphone: camera, display, and battery life.
In terms of cameras, you'll find three on the back: a 48MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP periscopic telephoto lens with up to 10x hybrid zoom and 60x digital. While we still need to test out the Find X2 Pro, renown camera sensor DxOMark tester gave the phone a score of 124, which makes it the third highest rated smartphone camera right now. This puts it behind the Huawei P40 Pro, but in front of the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro.
OPPO describes the Find X2 Pro display like a "cinema in your pocket". It has about every tech spec you'd want in a modern display, and more. The 6.7-inch screen is a 120Hz panel with 10-bit colour in Quad HD. In English, that means it's a silky smooth high resolution screen that can display a billion colours.
Lastly, the Find X2 Pro packs a sizeable 4,260mAh cell. That's not too unusual these days, but OPPO has paired it with what sounds like very fast charging. When using the bundled charger, the company says you can go from flat to full in just 38 minutes, or from flat to 40% in 10 minutes.
Other key specifications include a Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G, 512GB of non-expandable storage, 12GB of RAM, IP68 water-resistance.
The Find X2 Pro will be available in a choice of Ceramic Black or Vegan Leather Orange. Go for the leather. Treat yourself.
