Looking for a new SIM-only or prepaid phone plan but can't work out what to pick? Here's a look at the most popular plans on WhistleOut in the last week.
1. amaysim
amaysim keeps dominating our popularity chart, because a dollar per gig is a damn good deal, especially when you get 30 of them. At $30 for 30GB on a 28-day recharge, amaysim is a solid pick if you're after a prepaid service. On top of heaps of data, you'll get unlimited standard international calls to 10 select countries, and unlimited international text to 32 select countries. amaysim is powered by the Optus network.
2. Telstra
Telstra has its own solid prepaid deal, which is worth considering if you want access to the Big T network. You'll get 20GB for $30 on your first three 28-day recharges if you sign-up before October 28. This goes back to 10GB after, but the plan does however include standard international calls to 20 countries - a perk that costs extra on Telstra postpaid plans.
3. Jeenee Mobile
Jeenee Mobile's 15GB plan is one of the best offers around in terms of data-for-dollar, and if you sign up now, you'll even get a slight discount. $20.25 per month gets you 15GB on a 12-month contract, down from $22.50 per month. You will pay a $12.37 set-up fee, however. Jeenee Mobile is powered by the Optus network.
4. Belong
Belong's $10 per month plan is the cheapest SIM-only option around on the Telstra network. While it only gets you 1GB, it's contract-free and has perks like data rollover and gifting that you tend not find on other cheap plans.
5. Belong
Belong's 10GB $25 per month plan is another solid deal from "Diet Telstra", especially considering it's contract-free and and has data rollover. If you manage to bank up enough data, you can step down to the $10 plan for a month or two while you burn your accumulated allowance. You can also add on unlimited international talk and text to over 30 countries for another $5 per month.
How we measure plan popularity
The popularity of these plans is measured by the number of "product information" and "go to site" clicks they've had on WhistleOut across the past seven days.
