Types of Jeenee Mobile Plans

Jeenee Mobile offers two different kinds of mobile plans: Value plans and Large plans.

Value plans start with at least 1GB of data, and include unlimited talk and text. Large plans start with at least 15GB of data, and include credit for international calls on top of unlimited talk and text.

All Jeenee Mobile plans attract a $12.37 setup fee.

How to switch to Jeenee Mobile

Changing your mobile phone provider can seem a little daunting. We often get asked about how long it takes, whether you can keep your number, and when exactly your number changes hands. The good news is that it is very easy to change telco in Australia, and laws exist that protect your right to switch and ensure you always keep your phone number.

Your number is held by your provider, but only as long as you allow them to. If you want to swap to Jeenee Mobile, your old telco will automatically relinquish your number and transfer it to Jeenee when you activate your new service.

Here's the process:

1. Find the Jeenee Mobile plan you're after and sign up online. 
2. When signing up, you'll be asked whether you want to 'port' or transfer your current number to your new account. Simply put in your number and specify your existing provider.
3. After you receive your SIM card in the mail, you'll need to activate it. Doing this begins the process of transferring your number.

Note that your old service will keep working until porting is completed. This typically takes somewhere between a couple of minutes and an hour or two, but there's cases where it can take a day or if not longer. You'll typically know your Jeenee Mobile plan is live when your previous service stops working.

SIM cards store very little information these days, which means all of your contacts, phone numbers, emails and photos are either on your phone or in the cloud. Switching to Jeenee Mobile will not delete any of your personal information from your device.

What happens if I want to leave my Jeeene Mobile contract early?

If you want to cancel a Jeenee Mobile contract early, you'll need to pay out the entire remainder of your contract. For example, if you were on a $30 12-month contract, and wanted to leave six months in, you'd need to pay an early termination fee of $180.

What happens if I go over my monthly data allowance?

Jeenee Mobile has an auto top-up feature that adds an extra 1GB to your plan when you exceed your allowance. The price of auto-top varies depending on your plan; $13 on a month-to-month plan, $11 on a six-month contract, and $10 on a 12-month contract. If you're on Jeenee's $9.90 plan, you will instead be billed $6.50 for a 500MB block.

Auto top-up can be disabled via your online account settings on Jeenee's website. It is however worth noting that Jeenee's network is subject of a delay up to 24 hours, so you may be billed for excess data usage, even if you have auto top-up disabled.

What network is Jeenee Mobile powered by?

Jeenee Mobile is powered by Optus and has access to 3G and 4G services. Jeenee says it covers 98.5 of the Australian population.

What kind of SIM cards does Jeenee Mobile use?

Jeenee Mobile SIM cards come in nano SIM, micro SIM, and mini SIM.

Does Jeenee Mobile have prepaid plans?

Jeenee Mobile does not sell prepaid plans.

Does Jeenee Mobile still have a 2G network?

Jeenee Mobile no longer provides 2G services. You'll need a 3G or 4G smartphone to connect to Jeenee Mobile.

Does Jeenee Mobile offer international roaming?
