When shopping for a new phone on an EOFY mobile plan deal, keep in mind these plans have two ingredients: a phone repayment plan and a mobile plan. Either or both of these can be discounted and not necessarily for the same amount of time.
For example, you might see an "up to $800" EOFY deal where the phone is discounted $360 over a 36-month repayment, meaning you pay $10 per month less while paying off the phone. The remaining $440 of the "up to $800" might be subtracted from the mobile plan over the first 12 months, meaning an extra discount of $36.67 per month during that period.
So, for the first year, your combined monthly bill is discounted by $46.67 – $10 off the phone repayment plus $36.67 off the mobile plan. After that first year, you only get $10 per month off the phone repayment, while you pay full price for the mobile plan for the remaining 24 months. Your total discounts would still work out to $800, but you'd want to keep in mind the combined monthly bill at the start isn't what you'll be paying for most of your 36-month phone repayment.
Optus EOFY mobile plan deals
Until July 5, Optus has three premium smartphones heavily discounted over 12-, 24-, and 36-month repayment terms on its mobile plans. T&Cs apply.
Probably the most popular name of the bunch is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is roughly $600 off over the life of a plan.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are both a hefty $800 off over the life of a repayment plan. That's a pretty good deal and makes it well worth considering switching to a Pixel.
The Apple iPhone Air is $300 off, but is also kind of $800 off. So, what's going on here? Optus recently dropped the price of the iPhone Air on repayment plans by $500. Then, on top of this, its EOFY deal gives you a further $300 off. Ultimately, this adds up to $800 off the RRP of an iPhone Air over the life of a 12-. 24-, or 36-month repayment plan.
All of these deals need an accompanying mobile plan, of course, which adds to your monthly repayments. We've popped each phone and its 36-month plans in the table below.
Vodafone EOFY mobile plan deals
Vodafone has EOFY deals on its SIM-only postpaid plans and some iPhone plans – though the latter is mostly targeted at people with extreme data needs. There's also a big discount on the iPhone Air. It's not technically an 'EOFY' deal, but we might as well go over it while we're here.
All Vodafone's EOFY deals end June 30 and come with various terms and conditions.
Starting with the SIM-only mobile plans, Vodafone is currently offering new customers 50% off for the first six months, after which it goes back to the standard ongoing price. This discount only applies to SIM-only plans and not if you also sign up to a phone repayment plan.
Here's a look at Vodafone's EOFY deals for SIM-only plans:
Brace yourself because things are about to get mathy.
If you're looking for a new phone, Vodafone has an EOFY deal for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, all of which are $1,200 off over the life of a 36-month repayment contract. But, crucially, only if you sign up to the telco's special 500GB Extra Large plan, which itself is $79 per month.
So, is this a good deal? For the rarified person who needs hundreds of gigabytes per month, yes.
But for most people, this isn't nearly as big a discount as it sounds. To understand why, we'll need to compare it to Vodafone's Small Plan.
First, for most people, there's little to no point looking at data inclusions when comparing these two plans – only the price. Yes, the Extra Large Plan has 500GB and the Small Plan has a much lower 60GB. But 60GB is already more than triple the average monthly usage of postpaid plans in Australia. If you're not going to use all the data of either plan, any unused data has no value at all, so you can safely ignore it.
Now, are you ready for some quick maths?
The $1,200 iPhone discount is only available if you sign up to the $79 Extra Large plan with a 36-month phone repayment term. Over 36 months, $79 per month adds up to $2,844. Subtract your $1,200 EOFY handset discount from that, and you get $1,644 over 36 months, plus the full price of whatever iPhone you pick (because we've already accounted for the handset discount).
Alternatively, if you skipped the EOFY deal and just paid full price for everything, you could sign up to the Small Plan and, over 36 months, you'd pay $1,740 plus the full price of whatever iPhone you pick.
Comparing just those two figures, you're only paying $96 less over 36 months if you sign up to the Extra Large Plan with its EOFY deal vs. the Small Plan with no deal. And remember, the difference in their data allowances only matters if you need more than 60GB per month, which very few people do.
If you're already choosing between the XL Plan and the Small Plan, the choice is obvious: $96 cheaper is $96 cheaper. But if you're simply looking for big savings on an iPhone, this ain't it.
Ok, we're done with the maths part.
On a simpler note, Vodafone does have one iPhone deal going that's a bit less convoluted. The iPhone Air is currently $700 off over a 12- 24-, or 36-month repayment term, no matter what mobile plan you go with. This amounts to a 39% discount and means you ultimately pay $1,098.72 for the phone (plus the mobile plan), as opposed to the normal $1798.72. That's it, nice and simple.
Here's a look at all iPhone deals from Vodafone we've mentioned so far:
Telstra EOFY mobile plan deals
Telstra has quite a few EOFY deals going for picking up a new mobile phone on a repayment plan, available until June 30 with code EOFY at checkout. To keep things simple, we've picked out some of the most notable ones.
All of these EFOY deals are available on 12-, 24-, and 36-month repayment plans, which you need to complete to keep your discount. And, as always, you need to factor in the extra price of a mobile plan on top of your device repayments.
Starting with Samsung phones on plans, you can get the always-popular Galaxy S26 with a $600 discount, meaning you only pay around $949 for the phone. And the mid-range hero Galaxy A57 is $375 off. That might not sound like a big discount compared to some of these others, but it brings the total handset price down to $374, making it half its normal price.
Some repayment plans for the Google Pixel 10 series also discounted. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is $800 off, bringing its total price down to $1,199. And the standard Pixel 10 is $400 off, bringing it down to $949.
Last, the Apple iPhone Air is $300 off, bringing its cost down to $1,499.
Here's a look at these phones on Telstra plans with a 36-month repayment term:
Dodo EOFY mobile plan deals
Dodo is offering 50% off mobile plan fees for the first six months on its 40GB and 80GB plans. These are decent savings, and given Dodo's plans have no lock-in contract, you can change providers before the deal ends and avoid ever paying full fees.
That said, Dodo's plans were already 50% off for the first four months, so this EOFY deal is only adding two extra months on top of that previous discount.
Boost Mobile EOFY plan deals
Until June 29, Boost Mobile has EOFY deals on some of its most popular prepaid plans, as well as store-wide discounts on refurbished phones. These deals do have some complications worth exploring, however.
Boost's prepaid plan deals are restricted to the first recharge period only, after which you pay full price for ongoing recharges. This means the plans with 28-day recharges don't deliver much by the way of savings in the long run, whereas the 12-month expiry plan takes quite a bit longer to bump back up to full price.
There's also bonus data to be had on the 28-day plans. Confusingly, some plans have a combination of discounted price and bonus data, while others only have the bonus data. On top of that, the bonus data doesn't necessarily match with the discount period.
Here's a quick breakdown:
- The $39 prepaid SIM (28-day expiry) is just $12 for the first recharge, then $39 ongoing. It normally includes 30GB of data, but you'll get 80GB during the first three recharge periods. Only available online for new activations. T&Cs apply.
- The $49 prepaid SIM (28-day expiry) usually has 45GB per recharge, but the current deal gets you 110GB for each of the first three recharges. There is no price discount. Only available online for new activations. T&Cs apply.
- The $180 prepaid SIM (186-day expiry) usually has 100GB per recharge, but the current deal gets you 160GB the first recharge only. There is no price discount. Only available online for new activations. T&Cs apply.
- The $300 prepaid SIM (12-month expiry) is just $250 for the first recharge, then $300 ongoing. It normally includes 240GB of data, but you'll get 295GB during the recharge periods only. Only available online for new activations. T&Cs apply.
And here's a look at all Boost's prepaid plans:
As for the refurbished phones, Boost has a store-wide EOFY discount of at least 10% for refurbished devices, ranging up to 15% for some handsets. Each refurbished phone comes with a free $39 SIM (28-day expiry) prepaid SIM, but you don't have to use it.
Kogan Mobile EOFY plan deals
Kogan Mobile has a few EOFY discounts on its prepaid plans, all of which include temporary discounts and bonus data.
For its monthly recharge plans, the Small plan is discounted from $20 to $10 for the first recharge. It also gets a bonus 5GB for the first three months for a total of 20GB, after which it drops to 15GB per recharge.
The Large monthly plan is discounted to $20 for $40, but this discount lasts for the first six months. There's also 40GB of bonus data during the discount period, for a total of 120GB. After six months, the plan reverts to offering 80GB for $40 per monthly recharge.
There are also EOFY deals on three of Kogan's four 365-day prepaid plans. All of these deals are limited to the first recharge period, after which the pricing and data reverts to the standard inclusions.
The Small 365-day plan is discounted from $179.90 to $149 and comes with 80GB of bonus data for the first recharge. This takes it from 140GB up to 220GB.
The Medium 365-day plan is discounted from $190 to $159 and comes with 50GB of bonus data for the first recharge. This takes it from 200GB up to 250GB.
The Extra Large 365-day plan is discounted from $300 to $999 and comes with a huge 400GB of bonus data for the first recharge. This takes it from 500GB up to 900GB.
