Vodafone is now offering tablets on no lock-in contract plans with the option to pay off your device interest-free over 12, 24 or 36 months. This brings Vodafone's tablet offerings in-line with its popular phone plan structure.
Customers can choose from popular tablets including the iPad, iPad Pro, Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tab A 8 and Huawei MediaPad T3 8. They then pair the device with any of Vodafone's data-SIM plans which are contract free on the basis that leaving the plan early incurs no fees beyond the requirement to pay off the remaining value of the tablet.
If you do take up a tablet contract with Vodafone, you also have the option to change your data allowance month to month without penalty, which is certainly handy if your needs and usage vary.
Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone, Ben McIntosh, said of the plans, "This is the next step in us getting rid of the old telco ways of locking people in. Our customers have a range of budgets and needs, so this approach lets people choose a payment period that suits them, without tying them into one mobile data plan while they’re paying off their device."
