Low-cost telco Vaya today announced the latest pricing beating phone plan for the budget-conscious, with a new $16 per month SIM Only plan including unlimited calls and SMS, and 1GB data.
The 20 percent price drop on the Unlimited S Plan moves Vaya into the top spot for anyone looking for unlimited calls in Australia, overtaking Kogan Mobile’s popular $16.95 1XL prepaid plan.
Vaya will also make the plan available on a 12-month prepay option for $174 upfront, or for the equivalent of $14.50 per month.
All other Vaya plans now have the same 12-month upfront purchasing option and have a decent discount for people who take advantage of this.
The new Unlimited S Plan should be high on the list of considerations for parents shopping for a SIM card for kids and teens. We always recommend that parents look for plans with unlimited calls and SMS so that phones can continue to work as phones regardless of whether data credit is being used up earlier in the month.
Vaya plans have automatic data top-ups active on all account by default, with an extra 1GB being added for $10 when data limits are reached. This option can be switched off by calling Vaya, which is great piece of mind for parents with data-hungry teens.
