Budget telco Vaya today made big changes for customers with family overseas, with the addition of unlimited international calls to its XL plan, and lower costs on the other plans in its range.
From now, all customers choosing the XL plan - including existing customers - will be able to make untimed calls to 10 popular overseas calling destinations. Current customers will find the change is automatically added to their accounts.
The countries included in the unlimited calling offer are: China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the UK and the USA.
In addition to this, Vaya has lowered the per-minute calling rate for a number of these destinations on lower-cost Small, Medium and Large plans. Singapore and the USA stand out, with calls costing just $0.02 per minute.
The move reiterates the importance of international calling for a large part of the Australian community. Bureau of Statistics figures from 2015 found that over a quarter of people in our population were born overseas, with more than 20% more of us having parents living in Australia who were born overseas.
Vaya’s parent company, Amaysim, also offers generous international calling, where all Unlimited plans include unlimited calls to the same 10 countries, priced from $24.95 per month.
A number of other supplies also include international calls in no-contract plans. We’ve put together a guide to help you find them.
