Plucky mobile start-up OVO Mobile is adding a big feather to its content streaming cap, with 400 Thunder Australian Drag Racing events to become a part of the sports OVO customers can watch for free.
Drag Racing will join V8 Supercars, Audi Sports Racing and Australian Gymnastics in the OVOPlay app, which subscribers can watch as part of these service plans. Not only, but the content streamed through OVO Play is also data-free, meaning that watching the sport on your phone will not count against your monthly data allowance.
On top of live race coverage, OVOPlay also offers behind-the-scenes content and in-car stats for certain events.
Unlike other high profile sports streams offered by Australian telcos, the OVOPlay content is not locked to OVO customers.
If you haven’t come across OVO before, the pitch is pretty straightforward. It’s an online business offering prepaid BYO phone and data plans on the Optus 4G network. The current plan range is an interesting mix of high-value plans with lots of data, and a kid-friendly plan for under $10 per recharge. Back in December, OVO won a Money Magazine award for best-value high use phone plan for its $34.95 plan including unlimited calls and 8GB of data.
