Aussie Broadband has won outright in three categories of the latest Fixed Broadband Experience report from Opensignal. It was also the joint winner in two categories.
Opensignal is a leading independent insights company that tracks mobile and broadband network experience.
Its latest report looking at the fixed broadband experience in Australia looked at six categories including Consistent Quality, Download Speed, Peak Download Speed, Upload Speed, Video Experience, and Reliability Experience.
The report tracked the fixed broadband experience for Aussie Broadband, Optus, Telstra, TPG, Vocus, and Vodafone which together account for more than 90% of the Australian residential NBN market.
Telstra won the Consistent Quality category with a score of 85.6% of users whose connection met performance thresholds to support activities like watching HD video, participating in group video calls, and gaming.
Aussie Broadband cleaned up the Download Speed, Peak Download Speed and Upload Speed categories which were measured by which providers had the fastest typical speeds.
Aussie tied with Optus and Vocus (Commander, Dodo, and iPrimus) for Video Experience which looked at both technical parameters and the perceived video watching experience as reported by users.
Aussie was also the joint winner with Optus in the category of Reliability Experience. This category measured the ability of a household to successfully connect to the internet and complete tasks across a range of recreational and work activities uninterrupted. While similar to the Consistent Quality category this one importantly tested the rigour of multiple simultaneous connections.
