Following up from a grand unveiling during Mobile World Congress, Microsoft has announced local pricing for the Lumia 640 and 640XL, and they both come in looking like great value for money.
As a quick fresher, the Lumia 640 is a Windows Phone 5-inch screen, an 8-megapixel camera and an impressive 2500mAh battery, which Microsoft estimates will see about 24-hours of talk time.
With the 640XL, things are a little bigger. The screen is up to 5.7-inch, the camera to 13-megapixels and the battery to a whopping 3000mAh.
Microsoft will sell the smaller 640 in Australia for $299, while the larger XL model has an RRP of $399. If you’d prefer to buy one on a plan, Vodafone will stock the XL in May, while the 640 is going to Telstra stores.
To sweeten the deal, Microsoft is also bundling a year’s subscription to Office 365 Personal. This includes 12-months access to Office via your desktop computer, 1TB (yep, a terabyte) of cloud storage on OneDrive and 60 mins of Skype calling per month for 12-months. The subscription alone is worth $89, which makes the phones seem even cheaper.
