Aussie E-tailer Kogan today announce a new smartphone to its range and is asking only $129 for the Android handset.
The new Kogan Agora Lite comes with Dual-SIM card capabilities, a 5-inch screen and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. There is also a 2-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and 8GB onboard storage.
If there is a downside it’s that the Agora Lite isn’t a 4G phone, with both SIM slots geared for 3G services only. This new phone looks a lot like an older known only as Kogan 5.0" Quad-core Smartphone, which went on sale for $199 in 2013.
The price of the Agora Lite is the obvious selling point, and it is a great price for a handset that ships with Android Lollipop. Access to this system guarantees smartphone staples like Google Maps, Gmail and the Chrome web browser.
It is not the only cheaper phone in the market though. Sony last week confirmed it would sell the new Xperia E handset through exclusive partner Boost Mobile for the same $129 price tag. For those with a little more money to spend, Motorola has the Moto E in stores for $249.
And, of course, if you’re planning on picking up any of these phones, don’t forget you’ll need a great SIM-Only plan to go with them.
