Good deal: Bonus data on Optus SIM-only and prepaid plans

It seems like every mobile carrier is in a race these days to see who can offer the most data. And the latest to up its data game is Optus, with a bonus data offer on 12 month SIM-only plans and a bonus data offer on Epic Data Prepaid plans. On top of that, Epic Data prepaid plans have been refreshed to include more base data. Permanently.

Optus is running a promotion on 12 month SIM-only plans, offering 30GB of data for $35 per month, 50GB of data for $45 per month and an insane 80GB of data for $55 per month. Every plan comes with a free subscription to Optus Sport and the National Geographic app, plus data-free streaming of Spotify, Google Play Music and iHeart Radio. With each plan you can also add data-free streaming of Netflix, Stan and ABC iView for an extra $5 per month.

If you're after really big data on a SIM-only deal, there are few offers on the market right now that can compete with these promo plans, with the notable exception of Think Mobile's 80GB for $48 12 month SIM-only contract. Optus has stated that these big data offers on SIM-only plans are available "until withdrawn".

On top of these permanent data increases, all Epic Data 28-day prepaid plans now come with 10GB of bonus data on the first three recharges for new customers. To redeem the bonus data, all you have to do is make your first recharge of $30+ before February 4, 2019 and the next two before April 8, 2019.

If you're after big data on prepaid, Optus' Epic Data plans are now some of the best value on the market, although they are matched and occasionally outdone by amaysim, following the smaller carrier's own recent plan refresh. Compare amaysim and Optus prepaid plans below:
