ALDI Mobile is launching a $299 "One Year Super Pack" tomorrow, offering 365 days of prepaid service with 80GB of data and unlimited talk and text. The 80GB of data is one lump sum, equivalent to roughly 6.66GB per month. If you run out of data before the year is out, you'll pay $15 for an extra 2GB.
If you're after the One Year Super Pack, you'll have to visit an ALDI Store from April 18. The promotion will run while stocks last. ALDI Mobile customers who have previously has a One Year Super Pack on their service will however be able to take advantage of the deal online or through the telco's mobile app. Existing customers will have until October 1 to purchase a new Super Pack.
The One Year Super Pack is roughly equivalent to a monthly phone bill of $25, which makes ALDI one of the better value Telstra-powered providers around. Getting a similar amount of data would cost you $30 per month on Boost, Belong, and Woolworths Mobile. ALDI's Super Pack does however require upfront payment and a one year commitment, while Boost and Belong are contract-free.
While the ALDI offer is great value as far as Telstra coverage is concerned, there's potential to find a better deal if you're okay with Optus network providers. Jeenee Mobile, for example, will do 10GB of data for $22.50 per month. This will set you back $280 over 12 months, $19 less than ALDI.
