Holafly has launched a new top-end travel eSIM that goes beyond mobile data. Dubbed the "Ultra plan", the new eSIM option comes with flight and luggage insurance and medical support options for when abroad.

If a customer experiences flight delays, cancellations, or lost baggage, they can submit a claim through Holafly's compensation partner, AirHelp, who will handle communication with the airline on the customer's behalf.

In addition, Holafly says Ultra plan customers can get an instant €150 pay out for immediate expenses arising from lost or delayed luggage, up to €600 for flight delays, cancellations, overbooking, or denied boarding, and coverage for up to €7,850 in unavoidable out-of-pocket costs resulting from the disruption.

On the health front, the main benefit is "instant medical advice", which can connect customers to doctors in English or Spanish. Notably, the doctors can provide prescriptions in a handful of countries. These are as follows:

Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti, and the United States.

Other health benefits include mental wellbeing support, and nutrition and training advice.

At current exchange rates, Holafly's Ultra plan is billed at $143.95 per month. It also includes unlimited data, and unlike most travel eSIMs, comes with a phone number. Rather than being destination specific, such as a travel eSIM designed just for Europe, the Ultra plan works in over 160 countries. Frequent flyers have the option to pay quarterly or yearly for a discounted rate. Unless you lock yourself into a longer term, the Ultra plan can be cancelled at any time.
