Kogan Mobile has turned two, and to celebrate, its giving new customers their first month for free. The promotion essentially gets you a single free recharge of Kogan's $49.90 Extra Large plan, which includes 16GB of data and unlimited talk and text. You'll need to sign up before 11:59pm on October 22 to get free access, but you'll have until November 20 to activate your service.
You can find the promo by going to kogan.com/free.
After your free data is up, you'll have to pay the full price for any subsequent recharge, but you're able to drop down to a lower cheaper option, or leave Kogan all together if you're not happy with the experience.
While the promo only applies to new customers, existing subscribers aren't being left out of the birthday celebrations. If you've got an active service with Kogan Mobile, you'll have a bonus 2GB of data applied to your account today. This data will remain valid for 30 days.
When you exclude the first month, Kogan's 16GB recharge is roughly on par with current marketing pricing. Major telcos will offer a similar data allowance for less, but they'll lock you into a 12 month contract. Belong Mobile offers the most comparable no contract plan, at $45 per month for 15GB with unlimited talk and text. Kogan gives you 1GB of extra data, but Belong has Telstra 4G coverage.
Kogan Mobile is powered by Vodafone's 4G network. Kogan's standard mobile plans are as follows:
