Bang & Olfusen has introduced its cheapest pair of over-ear wireless headphones yet, the $399 Beoplay H4.
While $399 isn't exactly what most would call affordable, it's about half of the price of Bang & Olfusen's top-end H9 headphones, which we loved regardless (read our H9 review here). Despite the lower price, the H4s still feature the same luxury materials as other Beoplay headphones, including lambskin, braided textile, memory foam, and aluminium. The cans also boast a similar minimalist design to Bang & Olufsen's more expensive headphones.
"Beoplay H4 started as an exciting idea of a new, dynamic archetype that would give us the opportunity to expand our best-in-class sound, craftsmanship and design language to a much broader audience," said Bang & Olufsen Global Head of Marketing Jens Jermiin.
"Music is an art that explores the aural space. It is meant to stir up emotions and to provoke feelings. Growing up in the digital age, when HiFi listening was replaced with smartphone earplugs, it is easy to forget how immediate and beautiful a piano sounds, how percussion sparkles and how full and tuneful a bass really is. For those who want a way back in, Beoplay H4 is a beautiful and powerful piece of design that will make you fall in love with music all over again."
In terms of specifications, the H4s offer 19 hours of wireless playback, recharge over micro USB, and ship with a 3.5mm cable for when they go flat.
The Beoplay H4s are on sale from today, and available direct from Bang & Olufsen as well as select third party retailers.
