From November 2022, amaysim will begin offering its customers 5G access, joining other Optus Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) such as SpinTel, Aussie Broadband, and Southern Phone in launching connectivity on the next-generation network.
amaysim customers with a 5G compatible device will be able to take advantage of the provider’s new 5G mobile plan. At $55 per 28-day recharge, the no lock-in contract plan will include 60GB of data, unlimited standard talk and text across Australia, unlimited standard international calls to 42 destinations, Optus 5G and 4G plus network coverage and unlimited data banking.
This will, however, make it amaysim’s most expensive non-long expiry plan yet. Currently, amaysim’s range tops out at 80GB for $50, on a 28-recharge term.
It’s no surprise that we’re seeing a trend of 5G access being exclusively available on more expensive MVNO plans. Boost Mobile, Woolworths Mobile, and ALDI Mobile each offer 5G as well on Telstra’s network, however, these plans also start at $55 per month.
