Amaysim today announce big changes to its Unlimited plan range, with more data and unlimited international calls to be included in new plans from March 31.
Leading the announcement is that the Unlimited 8GB will soon be the Unlimited 9GB plan and will include unlimited international calls to China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, NZ, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UK and USA.
On top of the unlimited international calls, Unlimited 9GB customers will also get an additional 300-minutes to call to a further 22 countries. The full list of these countries can be found on the Amaysim website.
Current Unlimited 5GB and Unlimited 5GB Plus plans will have included data increased to 7GB per month, and the name of the plans will change accordingly. The ‘Plus’ version of the plan includes 300 minutes of international calls and costs $44.90 per month. The cheaper option will be cheaper still, with the Unlimited 7GB plan to cost $34.90 — making it a market leader at this price point.
Amaysim low cost plans will also benefit from an increase in data. It’s $29.90 plan will have 3GB data, while the $24.90 plan will come with 1.5GB.
All plans include unlimited calls and SMS to Australian numbers and unlimited SMS to a selected 10 countries.
Best of the best?
Amaysim is Australia’s leading MVNO in terms of subscriber numbers, and these new plans will see them streaking ahead even further. All of these plans will be popular, but the mid to high use plans are definitely best value.
The new Unlimited 7GB plan is the best in market right now. Kogan Mobile’s 5XL plan with 5GB data for $36.95 is closest, but is now a couple of gigabytes off the pace.
For international calls, Amaysim moves into a pretty safe position. It matches Vodafone’s $50 SIM Only offer with unlimited calls to 10 countries, but includes a lot more 4G data. Customers looking for unlimited calls outside of Amaysim’s 10 set countries should still look to Lebara Mobile’s $60 plan including unlimited calls to 60 countries.
