Vodafone has increased the price of its postpaid mobile plans by $5 per month, with the change now live for new customers. Vodafone has, however, included a little bit more data with each of its plans. This means its cheapest plan is now a $58 per month option with 65GB.
Below is how pricing is changing for Vodafone's postpaid mobile plans, which can be purchased as a SIM-only plan or bundled with a new phone:
| Old Pricing | New Pricing |
|---|---|
| $53 per month for 60GB | $58 per month for 65GB |
| $63 per month for 200GB | $68 per month for 220GB |
| $73 per month for 400GB | $78 per month for 420GB |
A Vodafone spokesperson told WhistleOut that these prices only apply to new customers.
"When we make changes which impact existing customers, we always inform those customers first," said the spokesperson.
This doesn't mean existing customers won't be impacted eventually, however. In January 2024, Vodafone increased its postpaid prices with similar messaging, but then started notifying existing customers of price rises in February.
The spokesperson told WhistleOut the telco is increasing the price of plans "to support continued investment in our technology, security and digital capabilities".
Vodafone's price increase follows similar announcements from Telstra and Optus in March. Optus plans all increased by $5 per month, and most Telstra prepaid plans saw a $4 per month increase.
While Vodafone is still cheaper than Optus and Telstra, there are still plenty of cheaper mobile plans outside of the Big Three providers. Here's a selection of popular plans in the WhistleOut database, grouped by a few different price points.
