ALDI Mobile wants to make it easy to get the entire fam connected with a new $80 family pack with a 40GB shared allowance.
The ALDI Mobile family pack allows you to put up to four services on the one plan. Everyone gets unlimited talk and text, unlimited international talk and text to 15 countries, and a share of the monthly 40GB. If you're the owner of the account, you can set limits on each individual service (other than your own). For example, you could give the three other services on the plan a 5GB allowance, while keeping the remaining 25GB for yourself. So rude.
If you're considering the family pack, it makes the most sense when you've got four people in your family. Your effective rate per person works out to be $20 for 10GB, which is quite competitive with the rest of the market. For comparison, ALDI Mobile would typically charge $25 for a 9GB recharge. The family pack is still decent value for a family of three, but isn't really worth it for just a couple. At an effective rate of $40 per person, there's just better data-per-dollar plans at that price-point.
ALDI Mobile's family pack will be available in stores from January 30, but it appears to be available online already. The family pack is sold as a 30-day recharge.
It's worth noting that if the owner of the ALDI Mobile family pack account cancels the service or transfers their number, the entire family pack will be cancelled. All remaining users on the pack will be removed, but will remain on the account with no inclusions.
