Vodafone has released a portable smartphone charger with all proceeds from sales going towards the Zero Childhood Cancer Inititative, the first ever personalised medicine program for children with high-risk or relapsed cancer in Australia.
The charger is known as the Genome Power Pack and funds from sales will be used by the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as part of the Initiative. The Garvan Institute will contribute to genome sequencing for individual children with cancer, to help uncover information about their cancer and ways to more effectively target treatment.
The Genome Power Pack is light and small enough to fit in a handbag with enough power to provide at least two full charges for most smartphones. Great for people who find their phones running low on battery when out and about. The power pack also works as an LED torch.
The Genome Power Pack is a limited edition device and will be for sale in Vodafone stores across the country for $49. If you don't want or need the device but still want to contribute to the program, you can make a direct donation at https://www.garvan.org.au/voda....
