Vodafone today announced a raft of plan changes, encompassing both its mobile and internet plans.
The most exciting is a new $45 per month plan with 50GB of data. However, anyone who signs up before September 14 will get a $10 per month discount, bringing it down to $35 per month for your first year with Vodafone. While you'll need to pay the full rate after your discount runs out, Vodafone plans are contract-free so you can leave whenever.
This plan also includes 100 international minutes to "Zone 1" countries.
Here's how the new Vodafone plan compares to similar plans from Telstra and Optus:
Vodafone's new $45 per month plan can also be paired with any device in the Vodafone range. The discount will still only last for your first year, however. Here are a few popular phones you can get on Vodafone plans:
Vodafone is now also offering home wireless broadband. Home wireless broadband is 4G internet designed to replace a fixed line connection, like the NBN.
Vodafone's home wireless broadband plans start at $33 per month with 50GB of data. Inclusions go as high as 300GB for $63 per month.
These plans are only available when you purchase a Huawei WiFi Cube 2 4G modem through Vodafone, which is a $6 per month payment on a 36-month plan. You will however also receive a $6 per month loyalty discount on plan fees, effectively negating the cost of the modem.
As with Vodafone mobile plans, Vodafone's home wireless plans have "endless data". Once you go over your primary allowance, you'll be able to continue using your connection at capped speeds of 1.5Mbps. You won't pay any excess fees.
These plans are only available in-store.
Lastly, Vodafone is now offering a new mobile plan exclusive to customers who bundle a service. If you commit to a Vodafone NBN plan or home wireless broadband plan, and at least two mobile plans, you can nab yourself a new $35 per month mobile plan with 60GB. The two mobile plans in question can both be the $35 plan. This plan can be paired with any phone in the Vodafone range, and is still eligible for Vodafone's bundling discount.
Vodafone will knock 5% off your total monthly bill for every service you have on your account after the first, up to a maximum discount of 20% if you have five services.
This bundle deal isn't available online, so you'll need to call Vodafone or go into a store to get it.
