If you are planning an overseas trip before you go back to work next year, a change to Vodafone’s Red Roaming could save you a bunch of money.
Vodafone is waiving its $5 per day roaming fee to customers who sign up to a $100 Red Plan.
The Red Roaming feature lets you use your phone in select countries exactly as you would at home. For $100 Red Plan customers, this means unlimited calls and messages in the country you’re and back home to Australia, plus 6GB of data to use.
Currently, there are 47 countries available as part of the offer, including the UK, US, NZ, large chunks of Europe and popular holidays spots Thailand and Indonesia. You can read the full list here.
All of the other Red Plan benefits remain active too, with free Spotify Premium subscriptions included and 300-minutes of international calls to stay in touch with the friends you make while you travel after you get home.
It's only for the summer break though, with the offer ending on March 3, 2015.
Vodafone's announcement of this offer comes on the same day competitor Telstra announced huge changes to its roaming costs, introducing Travel Passes.
