Vodafone this week revealed two incredible Christmas stocking stuffers — 3G and 4G phones, with Spotify, for under $100.
The Huawei Y550 (pictured, on right) hit stores today for a neat $99, with the telco claiming it is Australia’s “most affordable 4G phone”. A quick Google search challenges the claim, but does nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for a 4G handset for less than a green-beret (or avocado, or what ever you call $100 notes).
There’s a fair bit of phone for the money too, with the Y550 packing a 4.5-inch screen, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and Android version 4.4.2. It also supports HD-voice, and while this might not seem overly exciting, it is one of those features that may help this phone seems like a handset worth a lot more than you’ll pay for it.
If you want to save a bit more money, the Vodafone Smart 4 Mini also launched this week for $69.. Like the Y550, the Smart 4 runs on Android, but with a smaller 4-inch screen — or the size of the screen on the iPhone 5s. It only has 3G radios, not 4G like the Y550.
Both phones are bundled with $40 Starter credit which automatically converts into a $40 prepaid cap, including $750 worth of calls, unlimited text and 2GB data.
In case that wasn’t enough, the bundles also include a 3-month Spotify premium subscription, worth just under $40.
If you’re interested in picking up either of these bargain phones as an Xmas gift, or for yourself, be sure to check out Vodafone’s latest prepaid offers to see that what you’ll pay after the first included month.
