It's the end of the financial year once again, and Vodafone is offering big deals following the release of its new research that found almost 30% of Australians don’t think their mobile plan is good value.
According to Vodafone’s research, more than 30% of Australians pay $70 per month or more on a mobile plan, and 45% have not switched providers in five years or more, despite over half saying they’d switch for a cheaper plan.
In light of this research, Vodafone is offering double data on SIM-only plans, discounts on new phones, as well as a couple of smartwatch savings.
“With end of financial year sales around the corner, now is the time to hang up on expensive mobile plans and switch to Vodafone,” said Vodafone General Manager for Mobile Products, Arthur Panos.
“At Vodafone, you don’t need to break the bank to get great value and service for your mobile and internet needs. Our simple, SIM-only plans start at $45 per month so our customers can save and spend their cash where they need it most.”
To start, Vodafone is offering double data on all of its postpaid Infinite plans. This gets you a massive 80GB of data on its $45 plan, or as much as 600GB on the $65 plan for those with a truly insatiable appetite for data.
You’ll get the double data deal whether you take up a SIM-only plan or pair it with a new phone. Better yet, the double data lasts for the life of your plan, rather than just the first six months or first year.

If you’ve been holding out for an iPhone 14, this is your chance to make the switch. Vodafone is offering $300 for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus when you stay connected to any Vodafone Infinite Plan over 24 or 36 months.
You can also save $300 on the iPhone 13 if you’re after a more affordable Apple device.
If you’re more Android-inclined, Vodafone is offering both the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro for half price when you stay connected to any Infinite Plan for 24 or 36 months. That’s a $500 discount on the Pixel 7 or a $650 discount if you prefer the Pixel 7 Pro.
Samsung fans don’t miss out either. You can also score a bonus Galaxy Watch5 when you buy any Gaalxy S23 family device, and get an extra $300 in trade-in credit when you bring in your old phone. If you were to trade in a 128GB Galaxy S21 in Good Working Order, you’d score $520 off your S23, for example.
If you’re not as fussed about having the very latest and greatest, last year’s still excellent Galaxy S22 Ultra gets an even deeper discount of $600.
If you’re looking to add a smartwatch to your plan, Vodafone has a range of wearable discounts. These include:
- A $100 discount on the Apple Watch Ultra
- A $255 discount on the Galaxy Watch5 Pro
- A $180 discount on 40mm Galaxy Watch5
- A $195 discount on a 44mm Galaxy Watch5
These are available on a 12, 24, or 36-month term.
Vodafone also has a couple of prepaid deals that are perfect for those who aren’t looking for a new phone.
The Vodafone $40 Prepaid Plus Starter Pack is down to $15 from $40, which is better than half price. The plan comes with 20GB of bonus data on your first three recharges, for a total of 50GB. You’ll still have a generous 30GB allowance after, with infinite data at speeds of 1.5Mbps if you go over your allowance. This plan also has 1,000 standard international minutes to Zone 1 destinations, and a further 100 to Zone 2.
If you’re looking to make a longer-term commitment, you can pay for a year of mobile service upfront for just $170. This Vodafone 365-day long-expiry plan has 150GB of data, making it roughly the equivalent of getting 12.5GB for $14.16 per month. This plan would normally cost $250.
