Vodafone Customers: You Get Free Stan

Vodafone has revealed how its partnership with streaming video service will work, including a big bonus for existing RED Plan customers.

New and upgrading customers signing up for RED Plans on contract can now choose Stan as a content bonus, rather than existing offers from Spotify and Fairfax Media. Customers opting for a $70 or $80 RED Plan will get a 6-month Stan subscription, while $100 Plan customers get 12-months.

As an extra bonus, all existing RED Plan customers get 3-month Stan trial for free. If you have a RED Plan, you don’t to do anything but wait, Vodafone will contact you soon with details on how to activate the free subscription.

You will need to have your credit card handy, though. The free subscription will work like an extended trial for the site, and will automatically renew, and bill you, each month after the trial ends.

Also, a word of warning: if you plan on watching Stan movies and TV on your phone using your mobile data inclusions, remember to switch the viewing quality down from High to Low or Medium (depending on how much data you have included in your plan). High quality streams use 1.13GB data per hour, according to Stan, while Low quality streams cut data use in half — down to between 500MB to 600MB.
