As part of Telstra's exclusive partnership with Microsoft, is now taking pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S through the Xbox All Access program. While buying your console on a plan may seem a bit unusual, Telstra's offers are actually a pretty good deal.
If you haven't heard of Xbox All Access before, here's the TLDR. In Australia, Xbox All Access is a partnership between Telstra and Microsoft that lets customers bundle an Xbox onto their mobile or broadband plan as an entertainment option. Instead of paying for your console upfront, you can pay it off over 24 monthly instalments, much as you would with a phone plan.
Xbox All Access also includes Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft's Netflix for game subscription service which gets you access to hundreds of titles across Xbox and PC - even new release games. All of Microsoft's first party titles come to Xbox All Access day one.
If you're looking to grab a next generation console, an Xbox Series S will cost you $33 per month, while an Xbox Series X will set you back $46 per month. If you're interested in Game Pass or are already paying for it, this makes Telstra's plans a good deal.
Game Pass Ultimate is normally billed at $15.95 per month. Two years of Game Pass is valued at $382.20. This makes the effective price of an Xbox Series S $409.20 and the Xbox Series X $721.20. For comparison, the consoles' outright prices are $499 and $749, respectively. While the discount on the Series X isn't as big as on the S, you can save money either way.
