Superloop is offering both new and existing customers on NBN 100 plans a temporary free upgrade to the NBN 250 speed tier, provided their connection type supports the faster plan.
New customers who sign-up to Superloop's NBN 100 plan will get a three-month speed upgrade to NBN 250, after which the plan will return to NBN 100 speeds. The plan is billed at $74.95 per month for your first six months, and $89.95 per month thereafter. This makes it the cheapest way to try an NBN 250 plan. This offer is available until the end of July.
Existing customers on a Superloop NBN 100 or NBN 250 plan aren't left. If you've been with Superloop for at least three months and your connection type supports faster plans, you'll be able to opt in to be bumped up to the next speed tier at no extra cost. This means customers on an NBN 100 plan will get moved to NBN 250 for six months, and customers on NBN 250 will get bumped to NBN 1000 for half-a-year.
Of course, not every property can support speeds faster than NBN 100. In both cases, you'll need to be connecting to the NBN via FTTP or HFC. All FTTP connections can achieve NBN 250 and NBN 1000 speeds, but only 70% of HFC connections can get NBN 250 and only 7% can get NBN 1000. NBN Co hopes that all HFC connections will be able to get NBN 250 plans by the the middle of the year.
In addition, Superloop will be offering NBN 12 and NBN 25 customers the option to try and NBN 50 plan at no extra cost for six months, again, provided they've been with the telco for at least three months.
