samsung deals

For all intents and purposes we shouldn’t get Black Friday sales in Australia, but who are we to argue with discounts? Vodafone has a bright offer for this dark sales holiday - $600 off the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G bringing the handset itself down to as little as $645.

The $600 discount is split up over equal monthly payments for the term of your repayment plan. If you opt for a 36-month plan you’ll get $16.67 off each month, while a 24-month plan comes to a monthly discount of $25. You can bundle any of Vodafone’s SIM-only plans with your new Samsung, but we would recommend jumping on the $45 Lite+ Plan which gives you 80GB per month for just $45.

If Vodafone isn’t your network of choice you can still get a solid discount on the Galaxy S21 with either Optus or Telstra. Both providers are offering $250 and $350 respectively, off the retail price of the handset.

Both of these deals work the same way that the Vodafone one does - the discounted amount is divided by the amount of months in your repayment period. Month to month, Optus and Telstra costs are pretty similar, but Optus is still the cheaper option when it comes to data to dollar value.

Otherwise the pair go relatively hit-for-hit when it comes to extras and plan inclusions. Telstra and Optus both offer discounted movie tickets, while Optus plans come with a free subscription to Optus Sport and Telstra plans get you access to the Telstra Plus loyalty program. Both have international calling inclusions, Optus’ are unlimited to 35 countries while Telstra gives up to 30 minutes of calls to every destination. Either provider has data-sharing options across connected accounts.

Picking your poison is up to you, but both providers will give you some extras to sweeten the smaller discount or you can go with Vodafone and maximise your savings.
