Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest midrange phones, the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 (pictured above).
Both devices will be available from March 31, priced at $599 for the Galaxy A34 and $699 for the Galaxy A54. While Samsung isn't taking pre-orders for the new phones, there'll still be a launch period offer.
If you buy either device before April 13, you'll score a bonus 40mm Galaxy Watch 4, valued at $399 (although currently selling for $249).
At this stage, we don't have confirmation of what retailers will be ranging the new devices, but it's pretty safe to say the usual suspects will be on board. This means Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, and Woolworths Mobile on the telco front, and the likes of Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, and Harvey Norman outright.

The Galaxy A34 (pictured above) and Galaxy A54 both share a few key features. They have 6GB of RAM with 128GB of expandable storage, IP67 water-resistance, 120Hz refresh rates, a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, and 5G.
The key differences are screen size and camera resolutions. On the Galaxy A34 you'll find a 6.6-inch display with a notch while the Galaxy A54 is slightly smaller at 6.4-inch and has a hole-punch selfie camera. Both phones have three rear-facing cameras, but you'll get higher resolution sensors on the Galaxy A54.
Here is how the pair compare:

Locally, the Galaxy A34 will come in a choice of lime or graphite. The Galaxy A54 comes in violet or graphite. Both phones will get four major Android operating system updates and five years of security updates.
The pair will be joined by the Galaxy A14 4G and Galaxy A14 5G.
The Galaxy A14 4G and Galaxy A14 5G are more affordable, entry-level devices that miss out on functionality like IP67 water-resistance. Despite this, you'll still find 50MP cameras on the back and 128GB of storage. Notably, both have NFC, which isn't always given for phones in this price bracket.
While the Galaxy A14 4G and Galaxy A14 5G are almost identical in name, they have a couple of differences other than network connectivity. You'll find a different processor under the hood in each, and the Galaxy A14 5G benefits from a display with a faster refresh rate.
The secondary cameras are also different. On the 4G model you'll get a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera. On the 5G model you'll find a 2MP depth camera and 2MP macro camera.

Both will only be available in black. The pair will also be available from March 31, but won't have any launch period offers. We'd expect to see these phones available as prepaid devices on Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.
