Realme today announced the local release of its C21, the latest smartphone in the budget section of its portfolio. Despite costing less than $200, the Realme C21 touts a massive 5,000mAh and NFC.
While many phones now feature NFC functionality to enable tools like Google Pay, it still isn't the default when it comes to phones on the more affordable end of the pricing spectrum. Neither the recently announced Nokia G10 or Motorola Moto E7 - both also $199 phones - include NFC.
Other key specifications for the Realme C21 include a 6.5-inch 720p+ display, a MediaTek MT6765 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. It's rear-facing camera setup is made up of a 13MP primary lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP monochrome lens.
The Realme C21 is available from today, exclusively through Optus. The Realme C21 is being sold as a prepaid device, which means it's locked to the Optus network. If you want to use it with another network, you'll potentially need to pay an unlocking fee.
If you've not recharged your prepaid account to an accumulated amount of at least $80 during the ownership of your phone, you'll pay:
- $80 if you bought the Realme C3 less than six months ago
- $25 if you bought the Realme C3 more than six months ago
You'll also find the Realme C21 at retailers that range Optus prepaid products, such as Woolworths, Coles, Big W, Kmart, and Target. It's available in a choice of Cross Black or Cross Blue.
