OPPO is giving up its advertising space on the Southern Hemisphere’s largest billboard to honour essential workers instead.
The iconic billboard located on Sydney’s Anzac Bridge, which costs upward of $250,000 per month to rent, would have promoted OPPO’s upcoming product launches, but has been donated by the phone brand to recognise essential workers.
Spanning 200 metres, the billboard will sport a mosaic made of the faces of the essential staff working across the country to keep Australia running during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To create the message #AnEssentialThankYou on the city skyline, Aussies are encouraged to nominate an essential worker and upload a photo of them to www.anessentialthankyou.com.
Moving beyond healthcare workers, OPPO encourages supermarket workers, teachers, cleaners, aged care and childcare workers, and anyone else braving the current climate to submit themselves for inclusion.
Submissions are open until 9am AEST Tuesday April 21.
