Translucent tech flagbearer Nothing today announced its latest mid-tier devices - the Phone 4a and the Phone 4a Pro.
As Nothing's CEO foreshadowed, both are a little more expensive than last year's equivalents. The Phone 4a will start at $649 for a 128GB model, which is a $50 hike over the Phone 3a. The Phone 4a Pro only comes in a 256GB model in Australia, priced at $949. That's a $100 increase on the Phone 3a Pro.
When it comes to specs, the pair of new phones have some hardware similarities. Both the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro have a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, eSIM support, and a 5,080mAh battery.
The camera systems are also similar, with the phones sharing three of their four cameras: both have a 50MP zoom lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. Both also have 50MP primary lenses, but the Nothing 4a Pro is backed by a better sensor that promises faster focus and better low-light performance.
The bigger differences come in design. The Phone 4a has a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and uses a design similar to last year's Phone 3a. The main difference is a new "Glyph Bar" which replaces the Glyph Interface, putting the LEDs that light up for notifications in a row. The Phone 4a has an IP64 water-resistance rating.

Meanwhile, the Phone 4a Pro (pictured above) represents an all-new look for Nothing. The larger 6.83-inch display has a 144Hz refresh rate and is embedded in an aluminium unibody. While it's a move away from the transparent aesthetic Nothing has become known for, some of it still exists in the phone's iPhone 17 Pro-inspired camera plateau. On top of the cameras, the plateau also houses a secondary display, similar to that found on the flagship Nothing Phone 3. The "Gylph Matrix" can light up in custom patterns for different notifications and show progress for timers. The Phone 4a Pro has an IP65 water-resistance rating.
Nothing is promising three years of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates for both the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro.
In Australia, the Nothing Phone 4a is available in black, white, blue, or pink. The Nothing Phone 4a Pro comes in a choice of black, white, or pink. The Phone 4a will hit shelves on March 13, and the Phone 4a Pro will follow on March 27.

Alongside its new mid-tier phones, Nothing also announced a cheaper pair of over-ear headphones: The Headphone A use a similar design to last year's Headphone 1, but come at a cheaper $329 price tag. In addition to maintaining a plethora of physical controls, the big pitch is 135 hours of battery life with noise-cancelling off or 75 hours with it on.
Pre-orders for the Headphone A start on March 6, ahead of a March 13 release date.
