Motorola is ready to throw down in the top end of town with its latest flagship phone, the $1,499 Signature. While Motorola has more so focused on budget and mid-tier devices over the last few years, the Signature represents a return to the premium "flagship" space.
Flagship devices are often defined by their camera credentials, and Motorola seems to have delivered with the Signature - at least on paper. Camera sensor tester DXOMARK has given the Signature a score of 164. This puts it ahead of devices like the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which scored 163 and 157, respectively. The Motorola Signature does, however, trail behind the iPhone 17 Pro, which scored 168, and the OPPO Find X9 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which both scored 166.
While a DXOMARK score is not the be-all and end-all, it certainly is a strong indicator of camera performance. The fact Motorola managed to outscore the latest flagships from both Samsung and Google is also impressive, given it hasn't traditionally competed on camera.
The Signature's camera configuration is made up of a 50MP primary lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 3x telephoto lens. On the front, there's a 50MP selfie camera.

Other key specifications include a 6.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, an IP69 water-resistance rating, up to 512GB of storage, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 5,200mAh battery.
Motorola is promising the Signature will get seven years of major operating system and security updates. That's Motorola's best commitment we've seen yet, and on par with what Samsung and Google promise for their flagships.
The Motorola Signature is available to pre-order outright from today, ahead of an April 16 release date. Pricing starts at $1,499 for the 256GB model or $1,699 for the 512GB model. The phone comes in a choice of "Carbon" or "Martini Olive".
In addition to outright availability through the usual suspects, Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone are all set to range the Motorola Signature. Exact availability dates have yet to be confirmed.

Motorola is launching three other phones in addition to the Signature: the Edge 70 (pictured above), the Edge 70 Fusion, and the Moto G67.
The Edge 70 is effectively Motorola's take on the iPhone Air, measuring in at 5.99mm. That doesn't quite match Apple's 5.6mm, but it is closer. The Edge 70 is, however, 6g lighter, weighing in at just 159g.
Key specifications for the Edge 70 include a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, IP69 water-resistance and a 4,800mAh battery. There are two cameras on the back: a 50MP primary lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. There's a 50MP selfie camera on the front. The phone will get four years of operating system updates and five years of security.
The Edge 70 will sell for $899 and comes in a choice of "bronze green", "lily pad", and "gadget grey".
The Edge 70 Fusion is the Edge 70's chunkier, more affordable sibling. The key selling point is a 7,000mAh battery said to provide up to 50 hours of usage per charge.
Other key specifications include a 6.8-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and IP69 water-resistance. On the back, there is a 50MP primary lens and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, there's a 32MP selfie camera. The phone will get three years of operating system updates and five years of security.
The Edge 70 Fusion will sell for $699 and comes in a choice of "silhouette", "blue surf", "country air", "orient blue", and "sporting green".
Lastly, there's the Moto G67, the latest addition to Motorola's budget phone portfolio.
Key specs include a 6.8-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 6300 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, IP64 splash resistance, and a 5,200mAh battery. There's a 50MP primary lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the back, and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
The Moto G67 will sell for $499, and comes in a choice of "arctic seal" and "nile".
