Motorola is set to bring back its iconic RAZR flip-phone as a foldable smartphone, according to a report from the The Wall Street Journal. The paper's sources claim the phone will be available as early as next month in the United States, but will cost as much as USD$1,500. That's over $2,000 locally - roughly the same price we're expecting to see Samsung's foldable launch at.
This new RAZR will reportedly be exclusive to Verizon in the US, but The Wall Street Journal didn't have much to say about international availability. We're just hoping it comes in hot pink.
If Motorola is indeed launching a foldable smartphone, it will be just one of the many manufacturers committed to bringing a flexible device to market this year. At a minimum, we're expecting to also see bendy handsets from Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, and LG.
We wouldn't be surprised to see Motorola's RAZR revival announced at the end of February as part of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a tradeshow where smartphone manufacturers typically showcase their latest and greatest devices.
