JB Hi-Fi has slashed the price of the LG V30+, bringing it down to just $499. Launched at the end of 2017, the flagship handset would have originally set you back $1,199, and was previously retailing for $799. This deal is running to Sunday, both in stores and online.
While the V30+ may be a year-and-a-half old now, it's no slouch. Key specifications include a 6-inch Quad HD+ display running at 2880x1440, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 128GB of expandable storage, 4GB of RAM, IP68 water-resistance, and a 3,300mAh battery. There's also two rear-facing cameras: a 16MP standard lens, and 13MP wide-angle lens.
When we reviewed the LG V30+ at the start of last year, we called it "a no frills flagship with enough unique features to make it worth considering if you're after a high-end smartphone" and loved the audio quality and bundled headphones. Despite its age, the V30+ will easily outperform most devices you'd typically find priced around $499. 128GB of storage is a nice bonus too. However, the V30+ may not see too many more software updates. LG is planning to update the phone to Android Pie this year, but it's unlikely that it will see Android Q.
