Bose is now taking pre-orders for its brand new noise cancelling headphones, the creatively named Noise Cancelling Headphones 700, ahead of a local August 15 release date. The NC 700s succeed Bose's iconic QuietComfort range, and are said be the start of a new premium top-end headphone series.
Premium, of course, tends to come with a price tag. The NC 700s will set you back $599, which is more than what you'd pay for already excellent headphones like Bose's QC35s or Sony's WH-1000XM3s.
Bose says the NC 700s have been redesigned from the ground up with next generation noise-cancellation with 11 increments of intensity to choose from. The gentlest lets you hear your environment, while the most extreme setting is said to provide a "power silence". With noise-cancelling on, you'll get up to 20 hours of battery-life from the NC 700s.
Another key improvement with the NC 700s is call quality. The headphones have two microphones dedicated to voice, which are used to isolate your voice from background noise for clearer conversations, even in noisy environments. We're certainly excited to check that out.
The NC 700s also feature an all new look, which is a bit sleeker than the utilitarian design we've become acustomed to with the QC series. The new design does however mean the NC 700s don't fold up in the same way the QC35s do, but they will still collapse flat. You'll initially be able to get the pair in black, with a silver model to follow later.
