If you’re looking for a cheap phone on the Telstra network, the latest from Boost Mobile deserves your attention.
The new Huawei Ascend G630 is a phone that looks like a much more expensive model, but Boost has it on sale now for $179. This price is about half of what you’ll pay for the G630 through a number of online stores.
It sports a 5-inch 720p resolution display, and packs an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Android 4.3 Jellybean is installed and Huawei include a quad-core processor and decent 3.5G mobile network speeds (up to 42Mbps).
The only major shortcoming is that the phone ships with only 4GB of internal storage. When you consider Android itself tends to take up 2GB or more, that doesn’t leave a lot for music, photos or videos.
Also, when you buy the G630 through Boost, do know that it is locked to the Telstra network. It also comes with $10 starter credit and Boost will ship the phone to you for free.
Boost is also offering a bonus 500MB of data with every $40 ULTD plan recharge, so you get 2.5GB, for a limited time.
