Grand Theft Auto VI may be one of the year's most anticipated video games, but it's also likely to be the biggest. Not in terms of gameplay, but download size.
There are reports that Rockstar's latest title could be a 210GB download, which would blow past already massive titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where the download size is around 145GB. The big difference is Grand Theft Auto VI won't have a proper "physical release": downloading it is the only option. Even if you buy it from a retailer like Amazon, all you'll get is a code in the box.
While preloads will start a week before Grand Theft Auto VI's November 19 release date (that's November 12(, it's worth thinking about how long a game that big would take to download. If you're stuck on an NBN 12 plan, you are almost looking at two full days, assuming you're consistently maxing out your connection.
As plans get faster, download times naturally get slower. On NBN 100 you're looking at just under five hours, which drops to under an hour if you're on an NBN 500 plan.
Here's a comparison of how long it will take to download Grand Theft Auto VI on each fixed-line NBN speed tier:

If you're looking for the best download experience, we'd recommend an NBN 100 plan if you're on FTTN, FTTC, or FTTB, or a NBN 500 plan or faster if you're on FTTP or HFC. Compare the cheapest NBN plans on these speed tiers in database below:
