iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are Apple's latest flagship devices.

They're reasonably similar to last year's models design-wise, but the Dynamic Island is smaller, and the glass cutout is now colour-matched to the rest of the phone.

The pair do, however, feature a fast new chipset, which Apple says is up to 40% faster than the iPhone 17 Pro. Batteries are also longer, with the iPhone 18 Pro able to get three more hours of video playback than last year's model, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max able to get six more hours.

The other key new feature is a new 48MP primary camera with a variable aperture. The aperture can open wider to allow it to let in more light at night or get the shallow depth-of-field look, but it can shrink in bright lighting for more consistent focus across a shot.

iPhone 18 Pro plans and iPhone 18 Pro Max plans are available from Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

iPhone Duo

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable phone. It features a 5.4-inch passport-sized display on the front, and it becomes a 7.6-inch tablet when unfolded. Both screens have an unusual 1:1.4 aspect ratio, making them similar to an iPad mini.

The iPhone Duo is just 5.2mm at its slimmest point, has a titanium frame, IP68 water and dust resistance, and weighs 254g.

Apple has powered the iPhone Duo with the same A20 Pro chipset found in the iPhone 18 Pro models, and is promising a full 24 hours of usage when using both screens equally.

On the camera front, the iPhone Duo has two rear-facing cameras: a 48MP primary lens and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. These are joined by a 12MP selfie camera on the outer display, an under-display "FaceTime" camera on the inner display.

We're expecting to see the iPhone Duo available on plans from Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone. iPhone Duo pre-orders start on October 16 ahead of an October 23 release date.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are Apple's top-end iPhones for 2025.

The back of the phones is the most significant redesign since the iPhone X, with the pair featuring a much larger camera "plateau" and a mix of glass and aluminium. The majority of the phone is built from aluminium, but there's still a glass panel for wireless charging.

Apple says the aluminium design allows for better heat management, which means the iPhone 17 Pro can offer up to 40% better sustained performance than the iPhone 16 Pro.

Other key new features include an anti-reflective display, a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 8x optical zoom, an 18MP selfie camera, and larger batteries.

The pair of phones have been discontinued with the announcement of the the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but iPhone 17 Pro plans and iPhone 17 Pro Max plans are available through Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

iPhone Air

The iPhone Air replaced the "Plus" model in the 2025 lineup, and as the name may suggest, it's very thin. It measures in at 5.6mm at its slimmest point and weighs 165 grams.

While the phone is thinner and lighter, it still has an A19 Pro chipset, just like the iPhone 17 Pro. There is just one 48MP camera on the back, however.

In terms of battery, Apple says the iPhone Air can still achieve 27 hours of video playback per charge, and can last all day.

Other key features include Ceramic Shield 2 protection on the front and back, a new 18MP selfie camera, and a 6.5-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

iPhone Air plans are available through Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 is the standard model from 2025, and since we haven't seen an iPhone 18, it continues to be the de facto mainline iPhone.

For the first time for an entry-level iPhone, the iPhone 17 has a 120hz ProMotion display. This makes all motion on the display smoother, and also enables an always-on display.

The display is now a slightly larger 6.3-inch panel, up from 6.1-inch, and has an anti-reflective coating like the more expensive options. Similarly, the iPhone 17 screen is protected with Ceramic Shield 2 for better scratch resistance.

Other changes include a 48MP ultra-wide camera, an 18MP selfie camera, and a bump in battery.

iPhone 17 plans are available through Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

iPhone 17e

The iPhone 17e is the cheapest iPhone in the iPhone 17 family, starting at $1,149.

It is powered by an A19 chipset like the iPhone 17, and this time benefits from MagSafe and second-generation Ceramic Shield.

The biggest compromise is just one camera on the back, which means the iPhone 17e might not be the best pick for avid photographers. You can still get great photos from the one camera, but you don't get the same kind of versatility that you would from an iPhone with more cameras.

Like the rest of the iPhone 17 family, the iPhone 17e now starts with 256GB of storage as the default option.

iPhone 17e plans are available through Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone.

iPhone 16e

The iPhone 16e was a more affordable take on the iPhone 16 that retains some of the flagship features while costing less.

You still get an A18 chipset, just like the iPhone 16, and there's also a 48MP camera on the back. While it's just one camera, it can still do high-quality 2x zoom. Notably, Apple says the iPhone 16e has an even better battery life than the standard iPhone 16, thanks to a new in-house modem.

Other key features include first-generation Ceramic Shield on the display, wireless charging, and Apple Intelligence support.

The iPhone 16e has been discontinued and replaced by the iPhone 17e, but you might still be able to find it around.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus were the biggest upgrades we've seen to the "standard" iPhones in a few years. They got a brand new processor rather than a hand-me-down, bigger batteries, and more durable displays.

The pair also benefitted from the action button that we first saw on 2024's Pros. The action button works as a mute switch by default, but can be customised to do almost anything. They also feature the new camera control "button".

Other new features included an upgraded ultra-wide lens with macro support, Apple Intelligence, WiFi 7, and faster wireless charging.

iPhone 16 plans are still available from Optus and Telstra, but the iPhone 16 Plus has been discontinued. Optus currently still has it in stock, however.

iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 was discontinued with the launch of the iPhone 17, but you still might be able to find them around. While over two years old now, the phone got some of the best features from the iPhone 14 Pro.

These include a much higher-resolution 48MP primary camera, which offered a big step up in photo quality.
