Earlier this year we mourned the passing of Optus' signature data-free music and video streaming offer from the telco's mobile plans. However, like a zombie, data-free streaming is refusing to die.
For a limited time, Optus is offering data-free streaming of Spotify, Google Play, iHeart Radio, Netflix, Stan and ABC iView for $49 per months with the Samsung Galaxy A50. And for a limited time these perks are also included for $60 per month with the iPhone 7, which, though recently discontinued by Apple, continues to be sold on plans by Optus and others.
Both plans also come with 10GB of data, plus unlimited talk and text, a free subscription to Optus Sport and the National Geographic app, and are offered on a 24-month contract.
It's unclear as to why Optus has chosen to resurrect data-free streaming just for these two promo plans. Data-free streaming is not on offer from Optus with any other postpaid plan at the time of writing. Other Optus postpaid plans come with the offer of a free 6-12 month subscription to Apple Music instead.
Optus prepaid Epic Data plans also come with 10GB of streaming data for use watching Netflix, Stan and ABC iView:
