Following on from last year's red iPhone 7 special editions, Apple has announced red models of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The new colour is once again launching in collaboration with AIDS charity (RED). As such, Apple will donate a portion of every sale to the Global Fund supporting HIV/AIDS programs. Apple has donated more than USD$160 to million to the Global Fund since it started partnering with (RED) in 2016.
Other than the a schmick new finish, the red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are identical to the handsets that Apple launched in September last year. And it's always worth remembering that we're about half a year away from the next iPhone launch, so it could be worth waiting if you're after the latest and greatest.

You can get the red iPhone 8 special editions in 64GB or 256GB models. Pricing is identical to the standard iPhone 8 configurations, and is as follows:
- iPhone 8 64GB: $1,079
- iPhone 8 256GB: $1,329
- iPhone 8 Plus 64GB: $1,229
- iPhone 8 Plus 256GB: $1,479
Online orders will start at 10:30pm (AEST) today, and you'll be able to find them in stores from this Friday.
While the iPhone X hasn't been given the (RED) treatment, owners can get in on the fun with a new red version of the Leather Folio, Apple's wallet-like iPhone X case. This will set you back $145, and again, a portion of the profits will go to charity.
We're expecting telcos to offer the red Phone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus on plans in the near future. Pricing should be identical to current iPhone plans.
