Let’s no point in denying it: most of us have a seriously co-dependent relationship with our digital devices. Whether it’s our phones, TVs, laptops, or a combination of them all, we are likely to be staring at a screen for most of our waking hours.
Not that we think this is a bad thing! Obviously we love all things related to phones and the internet here at WhistleOut. But sometimes it’s nice to take a break.
Our sister site Reviews.org is willing to make this a paid holiday for one lucky gadget addict in its upcoming Digital Detox Challenge. The winning applicant will be paid $100 per hour to put down their phones and turn off their TVs, earning at $2,400 in total if they can survive the whole day without touching their tech and gadgets.
According to the rules of the challenge, you won’t be able to use mobile phones, TVs, gaming devices, computers/laptops, any wearable tech or smart home gadgets, like smart speakers.
On top of the cash payment, the Reviews team will also send a Dymocks gift card to stock up on analog entertainment for the day. They also send over a smartphone safe to lock up your handset and avoid temptation during the challenge.
If you feel like you could handle a tech-free day, and would like to earn the money, then head over to Reviews.org to apply.
